As from August 2009 the CLC moved to become a more roving area-wide resource, working with specified secondary schools to enable their development as specialist centres of ICT provision in their own right, both as specialist schools, lead-schools in one or other Diploma line and with local primary schools. This strategy links with BSF transformation of learning and facilities now underway in Newham.
Benefiting from state of the art facilities and equipment Newham CLC works closely with the other 100+ CLCs and other organisations throughout England to share ideas, expertise and experience in the use of ICT within education.
Additionally, Newham CLC is encouraging the use by teachers to learn, practice, and prepare materials, try out software, produce materials to be used within lessons using ICT and to have access to the latest equipment, facilities and expertise.
There are expert classes on how to integrate ICT into a mixture of lessons and in a variety of ways to encourage good practice.
